Welcome to Dreamscape 2011

Welcome to Celebrity Dreamscape 2011: Rock Around the Clock – Remembering the ‘50s.

This annual event offers guests a chance to visit a different time and place.  This year’s event takes us back to a simpler time when bobby socks and soda shops ruled! Travel back join the sock hop, and dance to the rocking hits playing on the Jukebox.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PATRONS:

We welcome you to the 12th annual Celebrity Dreamscape gala in support of Phoenix programs for homeless and at-risk youth.

Mickey and I believe one of the most positive investments we can make, both as individuals and as a society, is to invest in our youth. For this reason we have proudly served as Honorary Patrons of Celebrity Dreamscape since its inception in 2000.

Every year in addition to great guest performers such as the CBC Radio Icon Stuart McLean, we are privileged to hear from a youth who has been positively impacted by the programs of Phoenix.

We have been touched and near tears each time we have heard the very personal stories of neglect and abuse and the individual’s climb to success thanks to the helping hand they receive at Phoenix.

We will never forget the words spoken by one youth who had been discarded by his mother and new live-in boyfriend, as an inconvenience to their new relationship: “I arrived in Halifax at 14 with nothing but a backpack and an empty heart.”

The young people that Phoenix helps have been fortunate to have many loyal supporters - generous and compassionate donors like you. We applaud the many sponsors and courageous volunteers, all of whom continue to contribute their time, money and efforts to help raise awareness of the vital programs designed to help break the cycle of poverty and homelessness for youth in Nova Scotia and beyond.

There are too many young people not yet aware of Phoenix who are living in quiet desperation on the streets, wondering where they are going to sleep tonight and silently praying for a better tomorrow. Others have already found Phoenix and are now beginning to find their voice and using it to not only create a better tomorrow for themselves, but also teaching us as they grow. Your caring efforts are filling their hearts with love, dignity, self-respect and self-esteem.

We cannot wave a magic wand to help keep these young people off the streets, but Phoenix provides a safe-haven and support for those children who need it. It takes the continued dedication and effort of all of us to provide a Phoenix organization which can provide a solid foundation for their future happiness and independence.

We are both proud to support this wonderful organization and be a part of this magnificent event. Please take advantage of this opportunity to show these youth they have value and that love does exist, so we can break the cycle of lost youth and lost futures in our community.  Thank you!

To book your tickets, contact Crystal at 405-3058 or at ccowie@phoenixyouth.ca.  Tickets are $200 each, $2,000 for a table of 10 or $2,500 for a Dreamset table.

We look forward to seeing you on May 6th!

Sincerely,
