Phoenix and Symphony Nova Scotia celebrated a five year partnership on Tuesday, December 7th at the World Trade and Convention Centre.  This partnership is known as the Nutcracker Luncheon, a festive and not-to-be-missed, holiday treat, in support of both organizations' many programming initiatives.

Over 830 guests attended this spectacular occasions raising over $50,000! Attendees were delighted as they entered the magical holiday atmosphere. This holiday wonderland was complete with carolers, dancing ballerinas, glowing trees, turkey dinner, candy, laughter and of course, the very best in holiday tunes performed by the Symphony Nova Scotia Orchestra.

Hearts were warmed as Symphony Nova Scotia presented a video profiling Musical Munchkins, an important program that helps young children learn the importance of music, while exploring how instruments work. Kyle, a Phoenix youth, shared his journey from Ontario to Halifax and the the success Phoenix has helped him achieved receiving a standing ovation from the crowd.  Aaron, another Phoenix youth, shared the stage with the Symphony Nova Scotia.  Aaron beautifully played Silent Night alongside his case worker Darryl.  These moments are the magic that is the Nutcracker Luncheon.

Our warmest and most sincere thanks to all the community-minded individuals, organizations and businesses that join us on this very special day.  Your support is making an incredible difference in the lives of two local organizations.

Please join us next year on Tuesday, December 7th at the World Trade and Convention Centre for yet another fantastic Nutcracker Luncheon.
