Still Rockin’ in Support of Local Charities

An additional dance number followed The Soda Shoppe Gang’s high energy performances held at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium this past September, and that was a happy dance by Phoenix staff for the musical team’s incredible support and generosity!
Phoenix was one of four recipients of the proceeds from Still Rockin’, The Soda Shoppe Gang’s musical roller-coaster production which ran from September 16th through September 18th. A donation of over $12,000 was presented to Phoenix by members of ‘The Gang’ shortly following the show – a gift which will make a huge impact in the lives of the youth who come to Phoenix for help.
The musical group shares an important common thread – a love of Rock ‘n’ Roll music and a commitment to community. The Soda Shoppe Gang has been performing high-spirited numbers from the 50’s, 60’s and early 70’s for over 12 years. The group began from humble beginnings and their popularity has grown radically to such success that they’ve expanded their performances to larger venues across the Maritimes, often with sold out shows. What’s more, all proceeds from these performances support local charities. Since the group’s inception, they are proud to have contributed an outstanding $600,000 to charities, right here at home. What an amazing accomplishment!
