Our Stories
"A year ago, I wasn't the same person I am now. My mom had passed away earlier that year, as well as one of my best friends. I was living on the streets, staying from shelter to shelter. I thought that was ‘it' because I felt so low that I felt nothing in the world could help me. One of my friends mentioned to me to go to check out ‘Phoenix Centre for Youth,' and I'm telling you nothing in my whole life helped me as much as they did. I had a place to live. I got back into school for the first time since I was thirteen and I got my grade ten. By them believing in me, they gave me the encouragement to feel as though I could accomplish anything that I put my mind to."
