Dear Friends,

On behalf of Phoenix Youth Programs, I’d like to thank you so much for your support! With community members like you at our side, our team can walk with youth to help them navigate an environment that has become increasingly complex.

At Phoenix, this past year has been one of growth. We’ve broadened our services, fostered innovative new partnerships, and expanded our reach. Each step forward represents our shared commitment to youth and families in the fullness of their lives.

I’m proud to share our 2024–2025 Report to the Community—a snapshot of the transformative work made possible by our collective efforts. A few highlights I’d like to point to in this year’s report include:

The Power of Partnership (page 24)

In co-ownership with AHANS, this year we’ve added two new locations to our scattered site housing program! Kencrest provides safe, dignified, and deeply affordable homes for up to 22 youth including young families thanks to support from Reaching Home - Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada and the Government of Nova Scotia through the Department of Growth and Development and the Department of Opportunities and Social Development, with assistance from the Community Housing Growth Fund - Community Housing Transformation Centre

Hear from Shae, a bright young changemaker whose energy and commitment to learning is contagious! Shae is also one of twelve Knowledge Table members—a group of frontline staff, youth, and community members who are bringing their voices and advice to the development of our multi-service housing centre.

A Year of Growth (page 22)

January 2025 marked the end of Phoenix’s 5-year Strategic Compass, including our DEI Action Plan. We’re proud of the progress made and our commitment to the strategic directions, and our diversity, equity, and inclusion work is stronger than ever. Here we highlight just some of the impactful projects and initiatives shaped by our strategic work.
